Regarding Visitor Visa for Parents

Hi people,
I have gone through the "charcha" forum and gained enough information regarding Visitor Visa procedures for inviting Parents.

But I have few clarifications.
1. Few people have suggested to submit the T4s for supporting documents. But my husband and I moved to Canada in July 2007 and hence we dont have the T4s yet. But we can provide our latest PayStubs and Employer Letter. We have full time permanent jobs. Is it ok if we dont submit T4?
2. We both are on Work Permit which is valid for 3 years. Hope that is not a problem to invite my parents here.

1) I hadn't submitted any T4's but yes, I had provided my Notice of Assessment as mentioned in the checklist on the VFS web-site http://www.vfs-canada.co.in/

2) I am not well equipped with the info to extend any helpful info

But we donot have the "Notice of Assessment" either. What do you suggest?

Can someone help me with my earlier 2 clarifications?

Hi Anya:

You should be getting ur T4 before end of Feb. May be you can send all other docs to ur parents and then email them the scan of T4, which they can print out and include with their appln.

If you don't need to apply urgenly and can wait for a few weeks, include it; if not, go ahead with what you have. Like mentioned in many threads, there probably is no hard and fast rule on who gets visa and who doesn't. Do the best and leave the rest!

Thanks Viggy..

But we are on Work Permit. I hope that is not a problem. Because whoever has invited their parents (i mean whoever has discussed about this issue on "Charcha" ) were either Citizens or PR holders. I dint come across anybody who was on work permit. We are eligible to invite friends and family right?

I would think - again, just my guess work - that being on work permit is more in your favour. With citizens and PR's, one concern could be whether the parents will return since child/children are settled here. With work permit, I don't see that concern - you may want to include your status papers in Canada though.
