my family will be arriving mid feb and i need to finalise my apartment search by end jan!!
what is the desi population in the east mall and west mall area? are there any desi groceries around there?
i am looking in the etobicoke area. is kipling and finch a safe area?

I think if u try u can get an aprtment in rexdale and islington area called Pinedale Properties at Bergamot Avenue. The good thing about this area is that u have Walmart Sears and Indian Grocery stores at walking distance esp when ur family is just arriving.
The rent for 1 Bedroom apartment is $799 + hydro.

There is for sure lot of Pakistani ,Italian and Black community over here but i think its as safe and unsafe as other places in GTA. Jane and Finch or Sheppard ave are quite notorious in terms of crime rate.
We have been staying here for last 1 year and didnt have any bad exp. yet.

maybe look at albion and finch or albion and islington.. lots of Gurjarati population, indian groceris and quiet safe area

Kipling and Finch area was one of the areas i was considering but very impressed the area.

I have been to the Albion mall u will find a lot of shady characters hanging outside the door..

I general i did not feel this area is good place for a family..

If u have kids the schools are not going to be great.


Kiping and Westmore lane has some appartments and this area was much better.

If not there them there are more appartments on Kipling and Eglinton or Kipling and Dixion.

Both these places the rent is comparable or slightly more than Kipling and Finch , but u will be closer to the subway and the areas seem a lot more hospitable..
