No Problem . The border is open 24 hrs a day. I have done it before.

But why do you want to drive around midnight

1. how will be the weather in mid Dec & in mid Jan?
2. what about the road conditions like sleet/ice/snow on the road?
3. from where should I cross the border?
4. is it safer and okay to drive during midnight hours?

1) the weather is unpredictable. This past weekend we had a huge snow storm. Then today we had 100 mm of rain. then next week it'll either be rain snow or sun. It may be -3 or +12. degrees celcius. its hard to predict..sorry

2) road conditions depend on the weather... the roads can be hilly so use caution if its not dry. even if its just raining ..

3) Cross at the peace arch crossing or pacific crossing. Do not go into aldergrove/lynwood as these are a) too far from ur destination and b) closed at midnight.

4) its safe to drive..but if you are not familiar with downtonw vancouver..you really should consider staying in ahotel for the night and leave during the following day. you can get relatively inexpensive hotels/motels around $50 - $80 per night outside of seattle..take I5 north..there are a few.
