Dear CD's

When entering India at a custom point at any airport, please make sure to keep an EYE ON YOUR PASSPORT. They will ask you different questions to divert your attention at the customs counter. Once they get a chance, THEY WILL TEAR ONE PAGE (blank or stamped) from your passport.

You will take your passport and go out of the airport as soon as possible.

You will even pray to GOD "Everything went without any harrasement, I AM A LUCKY GUY"

You enjoy your 2,3 or 4 weeks of holidays and now eager to go back.

At Customs (even at any other exit point) the officer will ask you your passport and straight away show you your TORNED PASSPORT PAGE. (they punched YOUR MISTAKE OF TORNED PAGE when you left the CUSTOMS counter while you entering the country) As their SYSTEM is centrally operated they come to know from any entry/exit point.

"Why did you tear your page? Its an offence to do it? You will get 2 years of imprisonment and fine .........blah....blah....blah....."

When you say you don't know about it than you are at fault as it is YOUR PASSPORT.

Than MANDAVLI (pay hefty money).......

This is a true story happened to an Indian who was travelling from USA to India and back. He paid a big amount near Rs.600,000/-.......

PLEASE CHECK YOUR PASSPORT PAGES AS SOON AS YOU LEAVE THE CUSTOM COUNTER AT ANY ENTRY POINT OF INDIA.

Some people -Knowingly or Unknowingly spread this type of messages just for the sake of fun. This type of people should be taught lesson properly.

I am pretty sure, the immigration area is under video surv... It wouldn't happen for sure. I am hearing this for the past 7 years.

Immigration officer, I found them very straight forward.. No smiles but at the same time no harsh too..

I thought this forum was for helping eveybody and avoiding for the PITFALL.

Even banks are under video vigilance and banks get robbed without the trace of the guys in the video.

As the name goes as HUM HINDUSTANI, I am a true Indian too like you all but it ONLY hurts you when YOU or some of your friends/relatives fall into such traps.

If I have hurted someone here in this forum, I am extremenly SORRY..
