Is portable DVD system not one with the screen? They would be different from the DVD players that you buy in Wal-Mart for $30.

If you can get multivoltage portable DVD system that can handle 240 V/50Hz and 110V/60Hz, nothing like it. Convertors can only convert 240 V to 110 V but the Hz remains the same that electronic equipments do not like. I have seen cordless phones getting heated up in India, battery chargers fail, and electronic display clocks not working because they do not handle 50 Hz when you buy it in Canada since they are designed for 110V/60Hz in Canada.
