In exactly 11 days from the next full moon. What're you trying to find out exactly? Are you hoping that someone will tell you that if you dont' hear from the cops in 15 days, you will not hear from them at all? How do you expect someone to answer that?

Whatever you guys did is not the correct process anyways. If the damage is minor, normally the insurance information is exchanged and the party who is not at fault will report to his/her insurance. In a perfect world, the at-fault party would report to his/her insurance as well. XYZ's insurance would then follow up with you or your insurance to see if you're disputing anything. Police does not come into the picture.

Unless, there is a dispute. In that case, the lawyers can get involved and also the party who was hit now can claim all sorts of things including injury. It gets messy at this point.

I had a hit and run once when my car was parked. Unfortunately for the idiot who ran away, a bystander noted his license place down and put it on my dashboard with a description of the events and his phone number. I called the cops with this info right away and they traced the car and insurance down from me. Since the damange was minor the insurance companies took over at this point and resolved it. It took 6 months for the whole thing to resolve.
