'Mere Voters' are the ones who decide the policy of the country. Voters are the ones deciding who the leader is. THAT is the whole basis of a democracy.
OCI can vote in Canada (An OCI can also stand for PM)
Why should they be allowed to decide Canadas future when their loyalties are in question? Why should OCI's be allowed to vote?

I agree with jake3d. I think there should not be any dual citizenship. Having PIO card, green card, PR card whatever is okay but not passport of two countries.
Why should we pay taxes for people who are living in Lebanon for yrs and then start crying oh Canada my country when there ass was kicked by Israel. After 2 weeks a lot go back to same Beirut.
Canada should not be a just ticket for citizenship so after 3 yrs can go back and keep citizenship here. It does not make sense to me.
Yes it should also apply to all those who have dual citizenship or GC in USA. Let us strip Micheal J.Fox of his Canadian Citizenship and make him get a visa to enter Canada.
The same should apply to Celine Dion, the guy who made Crash and all thousands of Canadian Citizens who have taken up \\\"refuge\\\" in USA.
When the whole world is going towards borderless boundaries through internet we are still harping on like as if we are in the Cold War period.
What next we will seize the property, bank balance, shares in the stock market once people leave the country. We will immediately notify the gestapo and brand the family staying behind as spies/suspects. We will then torture the family back home to send a message back to the traitor.
Then we will send another visitor to the migrated country with either a umberella whose tip is laced with poison or pollonium and kill the guy for making a few inappropriate remarks about his native country in the Charcha section in CD.
Whether we like it or not, the USA already wants us to have passports to enter into USA by Jan 23, 07. (It will slowly followed by a VISA for all Canadians to enter USA and followed by capping of the TN Visa and then TN Visa to be merged into H-1B.) The ones in the bracket is all assumptions by me.

The guy who has a single passport/Citizenship gives the honor of establishing a Nation within a Nation to save his seat. Who is more loyal to the country of Canada ?.
