It was called "Why We Fight" by Eugene Jarecki. It was on the air just after the 9/11 conspiracy episodes.

Basically it goes back to the days of US President Eisenhower. He made a speech about the "Military Industrial Complex". A term he coined for the "business" of war. Check the link to see a snipet.
