Thank you BL! Looks like everyone did have a lot of fun this Canada Day weekend! No responses, yet!
Grabbed a copy of the weekend edition of Vancouver Sun at a gas station on July 1st first thing in the morning. Gave $1.50 for the usual price, and got back 2 cents - found that it was because the GST had been reduced to 6%! 
We finally did the most hyped up hike of Vancouver - the Grouse grind - and lived to tell about it!
Looks like some of our Toronto Desis had a nice get together as well.
Anybody did anything interesting on Canada Day?

Jughead, good to know you had great time too.
Didn't end up doing too much out of the ordinary myself, but it sure was a great weekend. Took the family to a park off of Lakeshore Blvd close to downtown TO on Canada day. There was a huge congregation of people who had gathered to watch the fireworks, most were sporting either a flag or some other paraphrenalia with the flag on it. Lots of BBQs lighted up as well. Also, watched Superman yesterday! It was great!

Nice long weekend. Went to Grouse Mountain and Harrison Lake. Beautiful BC is really beautiful (Best place on earth in advertisement)

Wow! What a fun place Ottawa is on Canada Day! A definate must-do experience. Apart from the televised festivities on the Hill, there are two other stages and parks with numerous activities for families. It all culminates with a huge fireworks display over the Rideau.

Hi Rahul,
We were in the Grouse Mountain too on July 1st. We may have met! Saw a few Desis there. A couple took our picture, and we took theirs.
And yes, they don't call it Beautiful BC for nothing - or the "best place on earth". Certainly the most beautiful place I've lived in!
BL - I look forward to watching Superman shortly - preferrably in IMax. Used to be (still am) a big time fan of Supes!!
Back to work, and looking forward to the next long weekend in August..
