I am moving to Calgary very soon, Do we have ICICI bank branch over there.
Moving2cangary,
Check out their website. It is simple and first thing to do.
If you want to withdraw more than 2000 dollars, you need to make a booking at Brampton branch. Normally they dont have cash to give.. Funny but true!! Happened with me. I finally had to tell them to make a DD for me in my own name, which I deposited in TD and withdrew cash from there.
Seems ICICI is still struggling to meet the service standards of Canada. They desperately need to increase the staff strength. Their rate of interest is better than other Canadian banks.

There is no pleasure in having nothing to do; The fun is in having lots to do and not doing it.
Hi fellow CD,
It is not the problem with ICICI bank, I had faced the similar problem with CIBC bank too, does that mean CIBC has problems meeting canadian standard, it is all depending on the branch regular cash requirement based on their daily i usage needs by their retail clients they keep the cash with them, this amount varries from branch to branch . Hope this explains .
I too have faced problems with ICICI banks, but I have far more serious problems with TD bank which is my main banking bank, I have now switched toPC financial as my daily banking use.
I want the cultures of all the lands to be blown about my house as freely as possible. But I refuse to be blown off my feet by any.
I like!
Dear desis:
I am Permanent Resident of Canada living in Toronto.
Should I go for account with ICICI. Which is better ICICI, CitiBank, HDFC etc
Wat are the benefits of opening an account with indian bank. Just to transfer the money to India or something else ?
I already have an account with RBC.
Ur advice is needed.
Hi,
I have an account with ICICI. I hardly use the account as I don't live near their branch. Their service has been okay with no major problems.
For money transfers to India,
Check out http://www.icicibank.com/Pfsuser/icicibank/ibank-nri/nrinewversion/m2i.htm
for Money2India.
In fact, you don't even need an account with ICICI to use Money2India. You can transfer money from your canadian account to a bank account in India (with major banks). I believe there is no extra fee for transferring money to a ICICI bank account in India.
Frankly speaking, I don't see any benefits with opening an account with any of the Indian banks. With Canadian banks like PC Financial, you get much better ATM coverage, no service fees, and a good interest rate (4%).
Ash.
