Keeping boh u.s. immigration and canadian immgration
My cousin is a u.s. green card holder since July2002 but had to move to canada in July 2003 due to family and personal problems . He is in canada on a work permit for last 5 months. he has already applied for immigration to canada. My question is
a) can he keep both his immigrations and how?
b)What he needs to do
immediately?
c)Should he visit u.s.a. before he completes 6 months or he can go after the completion of his work permit duration of1 year.
d)What should he say at the border while coming and going?
e)how about taxation bank account money transfer giving some u.s. address etc.
f)how serious are his chances of loosing green card status?

When one applies for immigration to Canada, it is clearly mentioned that he/she is going to apply for permanent residence in Canada. These days the immigration authorities have started asking to forego their permanent status (Green Card in USA) as according to their info majority of the people use or misuse the system. Technically speaking one cannot keep Canadian immigration and USA green card at the same time under present regulations. In order to maintain Canadian Immigration Status, one has to establish and prove close ties with Canada.

THank you mr. paul for your quick reply. when the immigration call comes what will happen if only the husband accepts canadian immgration and wife keeps her u.s. green card or the husband and wife accept canadian immgration and (children 18 and above) keep u.s. green card status. Is it possible?
