Congratulations on your citizenship, Monk!

I have a question for you.

The CIC website eCAS status shows that my application was received on 22nd Jan 2009. And they started processing my application on June 16, 2009.
On the cic website they mention the processing time for citizenship applications to be 12-15 months from the DATE/TIME OF RECEIPT OF APPLICATION - which in my case should be 22 Jan 09.

But the acknowledgement letter that I received in June '09 indicates that the processing times are to be counted from the DATE OF THE LETTER - which is 02 June '09.

With these conflicting pieces of information, I was confused and I contacted cic. The issue is some of the cic agents say that processing time is from DATE OF LETTER. The others say it is from DATE/TIME OF RECEIPT OF APPLICATION.

Hence, I am still confused. Can you or anyone comment on this and make a suggestion?

Thanks,
VD

Processing time of 12 to 15 months is counted per date of Ack Letter.

However you can expect your file to move to Vancouver by end July/1st week of August

Test date in October and oath in January/Feb 2010

If you are lucky you may get Citizenship earlier than that.

Nowadays it takes longer to get Ack. Letter.Rest of process is very fast

Hi,

Does the website get updated when the file is transferred to local office?
For the past 1.5 months, cic has been telling me that they are "in the process" of transferring my file to the local office. When I ask them how long does it take to transfer the file to the local office, they dont have a clear answer.
They also differ in their statements of whether the website will be updated once the file has been "transferred" to the local office...
Can anyone please clarify based on their experience?
They started processing my application on June 16 2009.

Thanks,
VD

Hi,

I finally received information from cic /website that my application was transferred to the local office on 24 August '09. I applied in Jan '09.

I recently called cic to query status and they said that it could take upto 8 months for vancouver office to schedule the test. Is this true? Or is this just a standard response from them?

Do they go through another round of checks on the application before scheduling the test?
This is indeed seeming like a long wait...

Any comments/suggestions/clarifications are most welcome and will be of great help.

Thanks,
VD
