I thought BL posted his message with the best intentions. I do agree that having people flame each other serves no purpose.

Shaibal, while I also agree with you that topics should not be deleted just because of the chance that they may spark off a controversy, we must respect the mods here who are doing so much more than any of us to keep this forum running and such a great place for information.

That being said, again it is common knowledge that Pakistan sponsors (directly on indirectly) terrorism in Kashmir. If topics were to start getting censored for a reason that a lot of CDs do not seem to agree with then this forum would end up like some dictatorship.

The bottom line the particular post should not have been deleted for the very facts like;

2X2 =4 and is always 4, whether one agrees to it or not, it can never change as well. If Mr. Fahad thinks it is worng then he should not read and or keep quite about it.

My English may not be perfect but I am not that dumb NOT to understand or interprete what he was conveying. and that is what I objected to (in my earlier post).
There is always a better way to convey one's displeasure or disagreement.

Just because some one has an objection on an article/post in the media or on this forum, people should not stop discussing / talking / posting there opinions on this forum.

As for the moderators, judging on an individual's comment if you delete a post, I think is NOT PROPER under any reasonable standards of understanding /judgements.

You could have asked Mr. Fahad,(if he is so patritic or cocerned about all these) to protest against the very country or the people who do such acts and becasue of whom the country's image is being tored apart and /or to go and ask the terrorists themselves to stop doing that ,since the whole community is being humilated.
Can he do this ? Instead of asking a forum NOT to discuss /talk about an article on that issue?

If that is the case, every Tom, Dick and Hary will say/obejct to something, so will you delete this post without having any consideration to the interest of the other world on this forum ? And it is a Shame.

I think you'll agree that we're not even close to being a dictatorship, otherwise all the objections posted on this thread would never have been entertained. I did not see the article myself and am not sure what prompted Garvo to delete it, I was making some general points in support of steering clear of regional / religious issues that will in the end serve no purpose. The idea isn't blind censorship, at the same time, we'll do whatever it takes to keep the purpose of this forum from getting sidetracked.

And for the record, no, I wouldn't delete an article from India today unless it seemed utterly biased and inflammatory. And the same would apply if someone posted a negative article about India from a Pakistani mag. or daily.
