I'm planning to move to Windsor in the 2nd week of March. I need to find an apartment in Windsor preferrably in a area where it's safe and there are some Indian families. In the beginning only my wife and child will be living there for a while before I join them. So, if there are some Indian families around, it would be comforting for them. Please let me know your suggestions with areas where I can look for apartments and give me some leasing office addresses and phone numbers so that I can check with them about the availability and rates.

My wife is interetsed in pursuing some studies preferably in health care related field. Are there any good community colleges/Univ. in windsor? I know there is univ. of Windsor, but not sure if it has got any good courses with employment opportunities.

I know there are few Indian families who live very close to Ambassador bridge. You can inquire about those. There are some good ones available on Ouellette Ave and Tecumseh. These are close to Windsor-Detroit Tunnel.

The response to my post on apartments in Windsor has not been very encouraging so far. In the mean time, I did find quite a few apartment complexes, rather Towers, in the town. The following link shows many apartment complexes and can any of you suggest some of them in the order of merit as to Safety, Indian community, distance to schools/Day care centers.

Housing along the riverside drive is pretty good. Personally, I would stay away from the west side of Windsor around the Univ. Petty crimes are high over there and also, the housing is designed for students....the buildings seem to want to fall apart. Reminds me of my good old student apartment where the kitchen floor was sloped !!

In general, Windsor is a safe community. I don't have kids, so haven't worried about schools or day care, not yet, at least.

If you need proximity to the border, most apartments in town that you have in your link is within 10 to 20 minutes from the tunnel. I live in the Town of Lakeshore (Maidstone Township) east of Windsor and the tunnel is 20 minutes from my home via EC Row Expressway and several surface streets.
