Just want to know how many of you will be ready to jump the Indian bandwagon if offered a good job in India with an attractive package but still have to accept India as it is with all its flaws.

Biomed,
the news item on Singapoe was on BBC world news so i cannot send a link but the summary of the clip was that singapore is making a stategic shift to become the asian hub for bio-medical R&D.

it might be a good option to try it out for a few yrs ...as for settling down there , i had the option but i preferred not to...you can judge it yourself.

Sorry instead of posting as a new item i deleted my earleir post and added this one...oops ...

Why not, I have lived in India for more than half my life and can do it again. It is just a matter of time to adjust to any new environment and its problems. It will be easier for an Indian to do that in India.

Biomed, thats a nice quote in your signature

talking of change ...i am guessing that you are in bio medical feild...if yes , then there was a news item in the news this morning that singapore is creating 20,000 new jobs in bio-medical research...

even Toronto will have a world class bio-medical research district in 3-4 years from now .( The MaRS district in downtown).

Thanks MI....I am a fan of this old man, Jack is a Legend and I am fortunate enough ot meet him in person.

Yeah you are right, I am in the field of biomedical (Engineering). And the news item (for Toronto) you are talking about is for biotech and life sciences research not for Biomedical Research. I did not check Singapore news article yet. Would you be kind enough to send related link to me?

Further I am not involved in the research, I am a pure technical person and working in the field of servicing Biomedical Equipment. As far as job opprtunities in my field are concern.. I would say there is a chronic shortage of Biomedical Engineers globally, so where ever I go ...I know ...I will get a decent job without any problem.

Thanks and regards.

I am amazed at why this did not occur to me - to advise you to go to Singapore. Believe me Bio you will get everything you want there - good professional work, nice hospitals to work with, detailed planning before the funds are in (something that you lack here!!), good schooling for your son (infact, slightly tougher than in India), clean atmosphere, help for housework and a government which plans for the citizens but functions in a private organisation manner - fast and efficiently.

I have a couple of friends in this field working there - one is a doctor from India and another is a management graduate - and both are doing extremely well there.
