If you can't find puja items in your local indian grocery store, go to Gerard Street and you'll be spoilt for choice with all the shops there that sell puja items.

Not sure about ready made dosas (unless you go to a south indian restaurant and do take out) but I know from experience that 'Gits' do all sorts of ready made mixes for dosas, dhokras, idlis, sambar, etc. I made their dahi vada's last night and they were sooo good! So much more convenient than soaking the daal, grinding the daal, mixing the daal, frying the daal,...blah blah blah....

There is a grocery store called Kohinoor in gerrard st. They have frozen dosa which is very good in my opinion. The brand name is "Shana". You might wanna give it a try.

If you want batter, try catering services classifieds on Canadiandesi. Tulsi plant is available in Indian stores. Frozen banana leaves are available in Chinese stores. Try calling Kaveri Supermarket in Hwy 10/Dundas (905) 277-5672, you should be able to find at least a few things you are looking for.

Try Meena's Fine Foods in Scarborough. They prepare authentic, fresh Idli/Dosa batter daily. Soft and fluffy idlies, and crispy dosas guaranteed!

No preservatives or artificial leaveners. Prepared the authentic South Indian Way.

Any place in Metro Vancouver?
I envy people in Toronto who can conveniently get the Idli/Dosa batter.

Does anyone know of any place in Metro Vancouver who sells Idli/Dosa batter? A few fruitcanas that I visited did not have it.

Thanks! :)
