Hello CD's

I am a newbie to this forum and I got to know about this lovely site and forums from a fellow CD. I am a CA from India and I intend to pursue my CGA here in Canada.

I have the requisite transcripts from the CA Insitute of India and I have also done my BCom from Mumbai University.

I wanted to know at what level would I be placed in CGA and how do I get CGA institute to recoginise my BCom so that they do not consider me as an undergraduate

I might be posting this in the wrong place as am not aware of the posts that go in here so if I have posted this in error please guide me to the correct forum.

Thanks

You will be required to take TX1 from level 4 and than be place in PACE level.

You need to mail your BCom degree in a university sealed envelope directly to CGA and request ICAI mail a letter indicating you are a member in good standing with them directly to CGA

Thanks a lot for the details. Any pointers to the maximum number of credits one can get through evaluation from CGA side if I am a Chartered Accountant from India?

Hi Incanada,

Were you able to get transfer credits for your credentials completed in India? I was interested in knowing which LEVEL 4 courses did you end up getting credits for?

Thanks!

Hello Newbie_08

I had to do 6 courses in all: PA1 and PA2 which is mandatory for all candidates

At level 4, I had to do TX1, BC2 and had 2 challenge exams for MU1 and MS2 (sorry using abbreviations as I do not remember the exact course names hence used course codes)

Your course credits generally vary based on your qualifications you have so it could be more or less based on your education background

Hope this helps
