Hi Readers,
I have completed my CMA from IMA, USA. To immigrate and find jobs in Canada, I am thinking of doing either CGA or CPA.
Can anyone please advice me what would be better to engage in for having more comparitive advantage in finding jobs in Canada?
Thank you very much.
Samak
CGA is a Canadian designation while CPA is American. If you want to work in Canada you should pursue the CGA.
CGA offers advanced standing to CMA(US) members in good standing

Being a PACE level CGA student should "technically" be more than enough to land a decent accounting position.
What is your educational background ? Bcom, MBA ?
Thank you for your reply. I really appreciate it.
I have done by BCom from Mumbai. I am currently working in the middle east.
I have seen the link you have sent. So you say, being a CMA and member with good standing, I need to appear for CGA Advanced courses, 2 of PACE electives and PACE?
Thanks once again for the information.
Yes, a total of 5 courses:
Level 4 course: TX1 (you can take this course at any college/university in Canada even online)
PA1
PA2
+ 2 PACE electives (one of them must be AU2)
Thank you....
I will go on with the Transfer Credit procedure.
God Bless!
Hi,
I am a CA from India and a CPA from US. Which path do you think is more advantageous in my case?
I had already asked for transcripts from CA institute and Mumbai university when applying for PR. Do you think they would not mind issuing again?
Thanks a lot!
