Hello All,
Thank you all for helping each other, with suggestions and solutions every time.
I am a IT consultant, and currently on EI and it ends this June 09. However i also completed a 560 hours of work during the EI period which i notified the EI and once this 560 hours work was completed i claimed the EI back what ever was remaning for the previous claim.
Now i can put a new application once the one year term is over which is June 09, for the 560 hours which i worked for, but for scarborough it shows the minimum to apply hours is 595 hours.
I still i have 2 months to complete this old EI benefits, and also need 40 hours to get back into new application for EI.
My questions are:
1. Can i still work part-time during this 2 months even though on EI, to make for the 40 hours.
2. While working part-time during EI, how many hours can we usually work, without getting over the EI limits.
3. For example, if a take up a part time job like Security or something and tell them that i can work only part-time, will i still be ok.
4. Do i need a letter from this employer that i am only on Parttime work while applying for the new EI application.
5. Will this affect the application as i am only working parttime.
Please advise me on all the possibilities, what is the best way out.
Thank you once again for all the suggestions.
My understanding : You can work all 40 hrs at a stretch in one week and report your income and hours for EI, you will get zero dollars on EI for that week but you will solve your problem.
is there any way how to work only for that duration, as no body would hire me only for that duration, and also i need the ROE.
Please, any suggestions are appreciated.
What u are asking is withing the purview of the law so
U should call the EI office they will answer these questions..
PPl at the EI office are very helpful .. Their aim is not to deny claims but to help u through the situation in a legal way..
BTW from what i know u should have the minimum hrs from the same employer.. so u may not be eligible..
