Check the current rules in the EI portal.
Last that I knew it used to be around 25% of your EI salary or around $ 100 per week. Any extra will be deducted $ for $.
Try to get cash jobs out of the part times jobs that you get like Pizza Delivery, Private Gas station, Newspaper Delivery and the like, so that you need not declare the cash. However this is not an ethical practice.

Since August, 2016 , they have a Pilot project for people to work, while they are on EI. See link above.
You can calculate, how much you can get with, PT work + EI and if its worthwile. But don't work too much or full time or EI will stop.
Or as someone suggested do a cash job + EI,
Or Education funded by EI in second career program.

You have this one provided to you by the previous poster.

Additional information.:

Benefits and Responsibilities while on EI

From other websites. You will get an idea how it works.
http://mtcsalc.org/en/publications/employment/employment-insurance-ei-benefits-summary/?p=2
They are trying to get all of these changes implemented.: http://globalnews.ca/news/2594248/federal-budget-2016-big-changes-coming-to-employment-insurance/
Please check the dates these websites were generated. Some of them might be very old too. So, check for latest information to understand how they are trying to improve them for those who are unemployed.
Trust you will find some good job while you are waiting this period out. And hope this helps you a little in the interim.

Be honest. Do not again never ever again be dis honest. Be truthful. If you are working declare all your income. If some one is paying cash expose them to CRA. Stand up for the right thing.
