Hi Guys,
I was looking to buy a camcorder and will really appreciate for any inputs from our forums technology wizards.

1) Which one is better MiniDV or DVD?
2) I was more inclined towards MiniDV as some of DVD camers are not compatiple with the DVD players.
3) I was thinking about panasonic GS 250, but its going just over my budget which is around 900 - 100 bucks.

I am not a techi guy....but once you have decided wch model to buy....try to buy it from US if you can....the diff in the price is considerable....I recently bought Panasonic GS 31 for only US $329....I was OK with that model....so decide the model on your own....

The recording if more or less the same on both a dvd and minidv.
The recording quality might be a little different.

When you get done with a dvd you have to wait for it to close and finish itself at the end of recording which takes about 1-2 min and add the time to change the dvd itself, You might miss your son scoring a goal or hitting a six in that time frame .

The idea of buying it from the states is good. I did the same and ended up saving more than 200$ on the price and also saved on taxes.

Thanks a lot for your input guys, yup looks like I am going to get it from US. Much cheaper there, I have narrowed down my choices to GS65 and GS150.
