Hi Masood bhai,
I had my medical in April 2003 (filed for independent skilled category in Dec 2001, Interivew waivered) I am still waiting for my visa. Anyone here has any ideas as to how long its going to take. Also my passport is with the embassy(which costed me a chance for an Ireland assignment).
Regards
Jess
I think before Masoodbhai can answer your query, you should advise which is your Visa office. The time frame will differ from one Visa office to the other.
You will need your passport with you to get the Visa stamped.

I applied at New Delhi Embassy, and about the passport, I got a letter from embassy on 31st march asking for ROLF, bank statement, and to undergo medicals. It read "I should send my passport immediately after the medicals". I have also recd a reciept for my ROLF.
I have no idea about New Delhi Embassy. But London Visa office takes 2-3 months to stamp the Visa from the date of the medical. They asks the applicant to pay the ROLF and submit the passport for the Visa stamping, after they are in receipt of the medical papers sent by the doctor. Once the Passport is submitted, it takes them around 2 weeks to return it after stamping the Visa (directly or by courier).
New Delhi Embassy might have a different procedure and time frame.

IT'S HARD AND UNWISE TO GUESS WHAT OTHER REASONS THERE MAY BE for the delay ... other than the obvious reason of long queue.
The system is pretty transparent.
