Hi,
I am landing in Toronto some time in October this year. I am also getting my H1B soon ( in the quota of 2005). If every thing goes as planned, I want to live in Windsor, but work in Detroit. I found on this forum that it is possible to commute betweeb Windsor and Detroit. I have a few questions in this regard and would like to get your definitive answers on this.
1. To commute, do I need to get any pass apart from the VISA stamping in my passport? What is the process to get it? Any links to it, please?
2. I am planning to get VISA stamped in India for my H1B and try this commute option. Is this good or Do I necesarily get the VISA stamping in Canada? I do not think so, but just to confirm this.
3. On average, how much time could it take to commute on a normal day?
4. Any risks involved in this process as to either my Candian PR or Citizenship later?
5. If my US employer is ready to start my green card processing, is it okay to go for it while commuting? Any risks in doing this?
Thanks in advance.
Vardi.
