There is only one thing constant in all these endeavors: green grass... it always looks there is plenty of it out in the yonder and looks so much greener from this here vantage point. And then you see there is a heck lot more green grass further up, on the horizon; granted, you may have to cross the landmass, deserts or even oceans. But once you are at the destination, it soon seems so ordinary, but there is so much more excitement, so much more dense green grass further up, in a slightly different direction; thankfully, now you have experience so what the heck move on a little more, a few more deserts or oceans.... When you are jaded enough and worn enough, you may realize that there was never much wrong at home, and grass there was green, even greener. So now what? go home? well, home ain't exactly same; it all receded into a time capsule. If you have it good in India, please learn to love the cursed land! After all, you were born there. TK gave you hints on how to assess the green grass you are now enamored with. You may find that Canada is just another moribund landmass. When you are reasonably doing well there compared to general folks, it may be time to seek further aspects of creative life, and look inside than cross the fence.
TO SANG-HO below:
Go back and read TK's posts again! He gave them a smart advice to take a sabbatical or other unpaid leave of absence, arrive in Canada (preferably one person first) and take a look at the scene for a few months and then decide for yourself. I think that is a golden advice. There's more to life than plastic paper worship.

I see how some people are hell bent on killing somebody's (north) american dream because they had some bad experiences. Lets not forget , the Visa is about to arrive after all the leg work of paper work and you are suggesting to let it go because Canada is cold !!
Guys , OP couple is in IT and that too in technology which is niche of the day . It will be matter of time when they will earn more than many of us and I am saying this with conviction. I know more than 50 immigrants ( by their names, are/were my office colleagues, ) who landed or studied in NS and are doing very very well in Canada.
Nova Scotia IT market is growing , IBM has a major near-shore centre in Bedford . There are bunch of govt projects, as well as other IT companies growing or wanting to grow in east. Not to forget there are 4 provinces that side where lot of money is being pumped for growth. Anyways it is not about NS, its about Canada and NA immigration.
Can somebody read about a rule and elaborate - A provincial nominee can shift to other province after 3 months of unsuccessful job searching. Lack of time on my part to confirm this but one of my known now doing contracting ( IT, java) in Toronto ( doing good), landed in NS 6 months back , researched and told me this. Bluff or not, he seems like not worried about his PR renewal.
Have travelled to NS often in last 2 years. Many Indians now in Halifax/bedford area. Better prospect of buying home, as RE is yet to catch fire their unlike in Toronto / Vanc.
and Desis complaining against Cold are hiding the fact that in Canada, humans are better protected against any kind of weather than in India. So weather does not matter, rather summer was so good this time that only day it rained was when CDs decided to do the picnic together ;-)
You Nailed it !!!!
As you seen in movies - Foreign in KANAADAA and that too Toronto and Vancouver - Guys move on there are other provinces and territory which has lot of potentials.
Especially for Trade people...
As San-Hugo said : Y complain cold ? and if you hate cold why chose CANADA ????
Canada is the best place to live : safety, freedom, security , medical , education etc...
There is a place in life for complaints, but not all of the time....
