JRF, the apartment you suggested hosts a very low ranking secondary school, and this is for my eldest son for whom I am much worried about. The list that I have laid out covers schools that are among the top five in Mississauga.
Mabelle that TK is pointing at has frequent complaints of bed bugs, just google and you will see people complaint about this problem. I am still convinced that Pisley is not that bad cuz I haven't read a single complaint about the area or apartments as TK said.
Bough beeches also suites me with good ranking schools in the vicinity, cheaper than paisley and looks more lively and convenient place. Please suggest.

Thanks

I will have to agree with you with respect to the Secondary school rating as my investigations are limited to the Junior and middle school only and again they are average and borderline.

Where ever you land initially, its just going to be an area for a short period say a year at the most, most likely you are going to find a place which is comfortable to you. Don't worry much about the place, you can't really go very wrong.

Internet comments are something you can't rely a lot, they make mountain out of a mole. And same with TK's comments, first he tries to stop every one , if you pass that limit he will try to pull every negativity you could think of even remotely.

Hasni:
I have been personally to Paisly apartments and trust me the apartments are really bad. People of very low income stay there and they might not have had the time to write on the internet (similar to the posters at CD who are mostly into IT and sucessful and hence they deem that everyone will be sucessful).

If you really want your children to do well, then you have to go to a white's area (such as Old Dundas road, Royal York road ectt). For when you go to a place polulated by trouble makers, generally the standard of education comes down and the teacher has to give equal care for everyone.

You want good education, walkable distance to schools, safety, and you have a minimal budget. It is not possible to get the best of everything with these conditions and you are looking for 3 types of schools with the best ranking.

I have been out of Canada for 3 years and have no experience other than junior school in which the Webb Drive area school was ok.

If CD's canot guide you, do google search. post in redflagdeals.com. Study with a map of the region and if you have questions, please post. We will try our best to help you.

Hasni :
If you feel that Paisly blvd. apartments hosts some of the better schools and is convenient to you in other ways, please go ahead and book it. Apartment interior can be the least in priority.
But I must warn you that the crowd in that locality is not that desirable (depending on what you call desirable). I would not live in that area.
Donot bring any jewellery to Canada. Always use debit card and have minimal cash.
One advantage of your position is that you are not looking for a job. So in this case you can stay in a basement / white's area etc... to get the best schools.
May be you can stay near SS (Sudesingh) area too. His house (current) must have been chosen near the best schools of Toronto.

Any questions, please shoot a mail.

TK thnaks for showing concern. Actually I have checked tons of basements but I could hardly find any that meets my requirement. However I have noticed that most of these apartment building are ideally located and that's how I could find few that sounded perfect. I could nt get one point, how come the schools in such troubled areas rank so high. If you just look at Floradale and Port Credit, they are top of the crop schools in Mississauga. Don't be offended but I can smell that you seem to have some bias against color skin, believe me good and bad people exist in every race, its a man's character that lifts him high up, even though he is a black. Honestly speaking I don't have issues living among desis, Asian or black as far as there are no harassment issues. Like my wife moving out alone being harassed by anyone. Who solver I talk to, they say every area is good as far as your needs are met. I would appreciate if someone here could suggest me some good apartments or basements that meet my demand.

Well, everyone will say what you say before coming to Canada (like all men are equal etc..) but once you find that it start affecting you, big time (may be at school, at home if some Gold is stolen etc.), then you will also start to blame. Why I said this was because, you are looking for high ranked schools only. So this means that you will have to be in rich people's area only.
For me, I will not be a hypocrite. I like the black people and I donot care about school ratings (should I have to put my children to school). But our Indian dudes in Canada are so concerned of not to live in Black's area and hence my note.
The problem with some of the people (of that color) is that they come from broken family and live in poverty and hence stealing / drinking / drug use / easy life is their habit.

As you are speaking so philosophically, you can surely put your family in paisely rd. apartments. So go ahead.

Bough Beeches boulevard - for one school my wife would have to walk around 13 minutes one way - Decent location. Shopping a bit far away but then crowd is OK.

Williamsport Drive - Not bad location. Shopping will be a bit far. This and the above will not have too much desi's (unless you find them in your apartment) and if you are an outgoing guy, you may find it lonely. Paisely on the other hand has a lot of activities going on at Hurontario and Dundas Steet intersection)

Williamsport Drive - Same as Wiliansport drive.

Suggestions -
Good after work life - Paisely
Good school - your choice
Safe and good crowd 0 Bough Beeches blvd.

You make the choice.
