We may agree or not but it's always good to bring a logical discussion than talking about a person. I hope there is counter logic of "Time's" article which is not published by NAR/CREA salesman.

Thats right! logical counter is required for time's article (of 17 Jan 2014) which is copy pasted from Money Beat ( 14 Jan 2014) , which also is published on Trex Global, greater fool and many more. and same phenomenon observed 6 months back , 1 yr, 1.,5 yr back till you go back atleast 6 years.

Spending 3 minutes on internet, one can dig out the proof of what I said :

Thanks san-hugo. How long market can survive with landed immigrant's money and shrinking job market?

http://www.greaterfool.ca/
a lot of guys who make cars lost their jobs. The sprawling GM plant east of Toronto, in Oshawa, was hit particularly hard. As the truck operation there ceased, almost three thousand people were thrown overboard. Most of them had houses. And mortgages.

First, big layoffs are back with us. Seventeen hundred yesterday at Bombardier. Eight thousand coming at Canada Post. Blackberry exiting Canada. Sixteen hundred at Sears. Heinz. Kellogg’s. Encana. BestBuy. Potash.

This GTA housing market really beats me. I haven't witnessed such a real estate market in the developed states. Some go up for 7 to 8 years and in rare case 10 years. This has really beaten all the odds so far.

What really keep fueling the market ?

I personally witnessed the crazy housing boom in Silicon Valley, they used to say there is no place left to be built, if you don't buy a house, you don't stand a choice in future.

This is getting little bit off the topic..
But this market have been not only surviving but doing very well over number of years. Your kind of attitude had kept the RE market very low before 2003. Canada comes among developed nations category and have been like that with or without immigrant money. The quality of life is much better over here than many other developed nations. Vulnerable poulation such as single moms, low income earners, aged, etc have better chance of survival though rich have to contribute a little bit more. This country has more oil than Saudi Arabia but still have freedom of speech. This country may not be as rich as US but have better gun control and much better record on crime. Rich are not as greedy as to pay 0% tax and cry foul on food stamps. This country may not have population as India, but I dont have to tell how better it is here..
So perception of landed immigrant's money keeping this economy is completely wrong. Dont forget, Canadian economist have been asked to rescue UK's economy. I guess more poor and refugees land here than the ones with lot of money.
So the market had survived and will survive.
Good luck with your safety net investment of life insurance, RRSP, 401k (invested in manipulative Stock market) and renting.
