Guyz,
I lived in canada for 5 years, now working in India with good indian sal, but canadian pr would expire if i dont move back in next 1 year, which means i have to sacrifice good job or canadian pr. Any thoughts?

I assume you haven't moved here earlier because you had doubts about securing a well paying job here. During this recession getting a well paying job without prior Canadian experience will be even harder.

From what I have seen, it takes immigrants quite a few years to get established and move into a well paying bracket. There are exceptions, of course....people moving from the US, people with IT backgrounds in certain areas etc.

What are your priorities? Are things like lifestyle (cleaner air, less crowded cities, 'free' healthcare) important to you? Or do you like the life you are leading in India currently?

India is the place to be from a career earnings perspective and spending perspective. However, in the next 30-40 years it will not have the infrastructure a first world country like Canada has.

From what you appear to be saying, I think you would be happier in India.

Can't have your cake and eat it too...
considering the current senario I would rather stay back in India as tomorrow if you have the money you can send your kids abroad to study.
Here in canada you might land a labour job and get frustrated.

If you lived in Canada for 5 years, wonder why you didn't get the citizenship and then moved to India.

Thanks alexm for reply:

Actually i had a well payed job in Canada and that too in my software field.
I studied in canada and got placed directly from the campus.
But because of some unfortunate reasons, i had to move back to India and currently i m working in IBM.

My priorities are good life style. Though i am happy in india as well, but i dont want to loose canadian PR and then loose the chance of getting citizenship. and when i think the future in india for my family, i dont get positive things keeping in mind the pollution, children studies, health etc..

Thx bombayduck, for ur reply but my career experience is mostly of canadian experience, i worked for 4 years in canada in my 5 years of exp. so i guess i would be able to find good job thru my contacts.

Thx smart desi, desifrnd and Fido for ur replies.

The thing is that if dont come back to canada in next 2 years, i wont be able to satisfy 2 years stay in canada requirement and my card would expire.
(though i lived in canada for 5 years, but my status was of work permit)
so either i have to sacrifice ibm job or canadian pr.
