Did you apply for the green card in 2007 when the dates were current?

The application process starts way before your Priority Date becomes current.

Timing the application based on the currency of priority dates will not work since retrogression and currency of priority dates are based on demand and can shift (and has shifted) in all directions without much predictability. Besides the GC process is a multi-year process with several steps to be undertaken.

Yes, I understand that. What I meant was, did you just get lucky due to the dates being current in 2007? If not, how did you dodge the long queue (India born), I am assuming that you didn't renew your TN while the process was on. Or did you get it done in the EB1 category?
It'll be great if you can share your time line.

-- Your assumption is incorrect. Of course, I renewed my TN multiple times before getting the GC. With one year TN each time and considering how long the GC process is, one has to renew the TN. The TN renewal is a non-issue before you apply for I-485. You have to be really careful about having a valid TN at least for 6 to 9 months, from the day you are ready to file I-485 and EAD.
