I don't know how much you are earning.. so you feel comfortable to say that private schools are not too expensive. Last year I enquired about my son who is in garde 3. Fees for an academic year in privates schools were from C$ 9000 to $14,000. Average salary of a Candian is 27K .. what do you think is it affordable?
I do agree that kids in India also do same non sense... the main diffesrence in India and Canada is..in India you can discipline your kids the way you want.. but here you can't even yell at them..yelling is treated as psychological harassment which is illigal and you can be arrested for this crime and your kid can be taken away from you by the Children Aid Society.

Well some people are complaining about education system, there are lots of very very good public schools too, if you venture away from Mississagua. Also montersoori schools there are some for 300 a month as well. You can find places which suit your financial needs. All indians think Mississagua is the place to be well, thats not the case lots of good public schools around.. Also I did state if you are in very good jobs people earning 70,000+ which there is a lot of people then private schools are good.If not there are lots of community run places that are very cheap 100 dollars a month that run private tution etc.
2nd about discipline you think shouting and hitting is right, I am a mother too and I do not need to resort to shouting, you respect your kids and they only get off track when parents are too lazy,busy or do not have the time for thier kids. How many kids do you know that are in clubs,music etc. Also if you discplin kids with shouting and hitting does that stop them running away or stop doing those things. I do no think so. You do it more trust me been there done it. I know friends in UK who's parents are very stricyt and the shout occasional beats when they were younger but heh did not work,..
Kids will be kids you just grow outr of it and if the kid is busy and happy they stay happy so that was my comments.
Hope no offence taken but that is my take on things, when people earn so much in india then come here and work for 20,000 if they stayed there there kids would have a better future there, thats who I was replying to really, but if they were worse of in india then I think there kids will have a great start in public schools because they are free so two ways of thinking

So what are your views about Vancouver ? I have been to Seattle and Portland, Oregon, USA, and like the environment and scenery a lot, and someone said thats what Vanc,BC, looked like too. Is that true??

Gaulam, I've never actually been there. But from what I've heard it is one of the most beautiful cities in the world to live in. You have the ocean and the mountains right next to eachother and to me, that's always win-win. If you look at some pictures, the landscapes are out of this world. People are also nice, I've heard. A bit conservative on the British side, unlike Toronto.
I think Vancouver would beat Seattle in scenery hands down.
The only negative I've heard about Vancouver is that it rains a lot and its overcast most of the time.
