I wonder if some of you have tasted Kanji drink - can we get it in Toronto? I am a fan of this drink for years and around winter time love to sip this drink. Since moving to canada I have yet to taste it.
Any pointers to this great drink are welcome !

This brings back memories of sitting in the garden during the winter in UP and Delhi. What a drink! especially the one with the dark purple carrots. Seems to be a UP delicacy.
I hope someone can post the recipe.
Here is the recipe
Dark purple carrots or if i don't get those, i even use beetroot with regular carrots ( it adds the color)
Rai dana, salt, red chillies.
Boil water and add carrots salt red chillies and rai dana to it and keep in sunlight for 5-7 days . shake/stirr it at least twice a day and drink is ready.
Mom used to add mint leaves for flavour.
Our neighbours from UP used to add Boondi or bhalla to it while serving..that tasted good too.
