I bought real cheap Philips DVD player from Factory direct last week( with no accessories like remote and cables). I thought i could use to play occasional DVD's which i get from library. I have a Philips universal remote that i use it with my television. I am trying to use this remote with my DVD player it does not identify this DVD (i thought it would easily identiy since both the compaines are same) with the exception that the remote didnt come with DVD.
My questions how configure this universal remote to use it with my DVD.

1. Search the net for the codes for that particular model
2. Check the manual for the remote. There are ways to try various combinations.
