Can we ever forget chandru's quite approach to all mathematical problems or can we forget rashid's "DIL BAR JANIYA" or the polite and down to earth behaviour of sudarshan. It is just difficult.I started liking shashi kapoor only because of rashid.

He did take me around the Hubli city when I went to his home in 1977.How can I forget his hospitability ? Can we ever forget Satish Desai's ever smiling face ?
May God give peace to their souls--------kr
He has left a indelible impression on me. In all exams he was always infront of me. His roll no. 227 & mine 228
Right from day one he joined KREC he has not wasted a single minute. He was devoted fully to studies & career. He used to get up exactly at 6.20 am etc...after lunch around 12.00 nap exactly till 1.25 pm , study exactly till 10.30 pm- a schedule he was following PERFECTLY
never missed a single class in 5 years. Whatever the teacher wrote on board he was copying in his notes. Always first in each & every subject.
Amazing part is he had Crystal Clear VISION of his career those days only when most of us were leaving it to nature. He had said he will never join industry.( He had understood that time only that Metallurgy is a research oriented subject ). He will do M.Tech, then Ph.D , post doctoral & then join as Prof. & continue taking up research projects- Very rare for a person from a village called Siddapur in NK and brought up in village atmosphere.
He was an IDEAL student
Whenever I hear 2 words Education & perfect student - my mind subconciously remembers Sudarshan V Bhat. His name is synonym for education & perfect student
Bye
Sudhindranath
I was dreading to write this. But when I saw the photograph of Satish I decided to write. It was sometime in early 90s . I was shopping around with my family in Burdubai (in Dubai) suddenly I heard someone calling "Mulla" loudly. In Dubai mostly everyone addressed me as Shafik. I was surprised and turned around ... it was Satish Desai. We were so happy to meet after 12 years ! We hugged and partedwith a promise to meet with families and keep meeting frequently. But that never happened... just after two weeks I called up his office to touch base with him but only to learn that he was no more.
It is so sad that we don't find them around us physically but i am sure they live in our hearts for ever.

it was one of the evenings when we were in 4th block and I was busy hanging washed clothes on top of my bed curtain rod.. humming the tune of LOBO ( song-"I see the want in yr blue eyes" ). Rashid came in and he infact had a liking to this song as well. but as usual did not know the words. then in a second he disappeared and came back to my room after one hour and was singing this song ..you know in his accent. but he sang one full paragraph of this song for me . All he did was go to Ashish Machado's (aka . Omar sheriff )room and made him play the song and learnt it and sang it for me. quite an amazing fellow he was.
Another time when we were in the final block, he was just singing and just loitering in the corridor when everybody else were cramming . K.Giridhar , for some reason was in my room and just did not very much like this distubance and called him to ask if he has prepared well for the sessional test( circuits -my guess) due the next day. Rashid plainly said he has. so giridhar shot 4 questions at him on this subject. he shot back all with answers which certainly surprised Giri and frankly he was speachless.
I was just trying to remember him as 28th Aug was his B'day. a guy who never had frown ,but had a grin most of the times. had his own way of opening his room door with his butt and was a good imitator of all actors, specially an english film dialogue.
I was not a very close friend of his , but have very pleasent little memories .
We all miss him.

Not to be insensitive, but can you give us some context on what these posts are about? Were these your friends? I see a different name signed under each post.
I hope I'm not the only one wondering.

Are you there?
This post was created basically to remember some of our coursemates who are no more in this world today. We were 250 coursemates in our engg batch and most of us are in touch with each other. Only 3 coursemates are in canada and remaining are in different countries. Since my other coursemates do not have a user ID and password for canadian desi, they use my ID to upload their comments. Thanks
Thanks. And I didnt' have an issue with the posts to begin with. I was just looking for more context as I'm sure other people would be. With that in mind, it might be worthwhile for you to post what you sent me in the PM here.
