Saskatchewan is a very peaceful province. The rents and the real estate prices are very reasonable. Employment scenario will depend upon your profession. IT / hi-tech jobs are not very many (but the situation is improving), SK being an agricultural province. In my opinion, if you get a job, the quality of life in Saskatchewan is good.

I don't know about other cities in SK, but Saskatoon is going nuts right now with real estate prices.
The real estate boom in neighbouring Alberta is spilling over into SK.
Right now, prices of new homes in Saskatoon rival (and even beat) downtown Toronto prices.
A colleague recently moved from SK and bought a 1500 sq. ft. townhouse in downtown Toronto for about the same price as his brother in Saskatoon bought a similar house.

A lot of Albertans are purchasing investment properties in SK, thereby pushing up prices.
The unexplored natural gals and Uranium deposits in SK are likely to fuel economic growth in the future.

You are right, but still the real estate prices and the rents in Saskatoon are much less than those in Ontario/Alberta and within the reach of a common man.

I recommend Saskatoon. It is a University town with a very low crime rate. There are quite a few Indians and Pakistanis who live there.

If you live in Saskatoon, stay close to the University. Lakeview is a nice area.
