first of all , this is the pattern one has to follow to get graduation
Grade 9 : 8 credits
Grade 10: 8 credits
Grade 11: 8 credits
Grade 12: 6 credits ( because its harder)
In one year ur daughter can't do more than 8 credits.
Now as u said, ur daughter is good in maths and she does well in the assesment test and is admitted to grade 11. then the guidance counsellor at the school will ask her what courses she wants to get a credit for. As u said u want her to do these courses
Grade 9 (Total Credits - 5 )
English
Maths
Science
Core French
Geograpgy
Grade 10 (Total Credits - 11)
English
Maths
Science
Music (Piono)
Business Technology
Canadian History in 20 th Century
Civics & Careers
International (Third) Language
Physical & Health Education
Communication Technology
Introduction to Computers
so ur daughter will tell the cousellor and the counsellor will give her the above credits. As ur daughter is really good in maths ,may be she passes the grade 11 maths assesment test but not the grade 11 english test then she will be given a grade 11 maths credit too.
I will give u my example
I arrived here when i was about to finish grade 9. I gave an assesment test and got admitted into Grade 10. My english was on grade 10 level however my maths was really good. So i asked the assesment person why can't i get admitted to grade 11 but she said tht according to my age they can't let me in grade 11 as i will be 1 year younger to all of them. thus u can't expect ur daughter to get admitted into grade 12 with 24 credits at the age of 15. Its better to come to canada and study here rather then staying in india . I am quite sure she will get 16 credits for sure and then she will have to do
Grade 11 : 8 credits
Grade 12 : 6 credits
she can also do summer courses in canada thus she will get one credit for it too
By the way i am in grade 12 going to engineering next year and here's how i got my credits
Grade 9:
English so if ur daughter chooses time table like me t
Science then she will get the grade 9 and grade 10
Maths
Gym credits (16)
Geography
French
Family studies
Technology
Grade 10:
English
Science
Maths
canadian history
Civics and Careers
Family studies
Business
French
Grade 11:
English
Maths
Physics
Chemistry
Biology
Psychology
Ancient History
Food Science (Grade 12)
Grade 12(currently taking)
English
Physics
Chemistry
Biology
Calculus
Data management
Hope this helped, but don't even think of staying in india because its certainly easier here in canada to study than in India lol
Shaik,
Thanks a lot for the information. Now I am very clear about the process. I appreciate your efforts in making me understand the process.
I have few more querries:
1). Is there any pass mark for assessment tests of Maths and English?
2). Is there any syllabus or model question papers available with assessment centre for these tests?
3). Can you recommend some books for the test preparation?
Please respond to above querries when you find some time.

Well, i remember tht i didn't prepared for anything but still i got admitted according my grade back home. However, i can tell u wht they taught us in grade 10 in maths. Finding slope, simplifying equations like Polynomials, trigonometry, data analysis etc. I know through my indian friends tht maths is really hard in india especially in Grade 9 and 10. Therefore, shouldn't worry about the maths. For english, she should know how to communicate well in english, how to write an essay, if the counsellor gives her a composition and asks questions about it, she should be able to answer them and About Grammar, Should know Past , present perfect tense . Just make sure tht she is good in maths and english, hindi and other social science courses won't help her here in India.
1). Is there any pass mark for assessment tests of Maths and English?
No, it will be the counsellor's decision whether u r good enough for the grade or not.Like through ur daughter's report card, they will get to know tht she should be admitted to grade 11. If she does 60 to70% questions for grade 11 assessment test right she will be admitted.
). Is there any syllabus or model question papers available with assessment centre for these tests?
I don't think so.
Can you recommend some books for the test preparation?
Her maths course books
lol
U shouldn't be stressed out. They will only look at her last report card. and evaluate ur daughter .
Seriously those assessment people are the nicest people on earth. Even if u forget how to do the question, they will help u solve it and still give u marks for it. If u can't speak english, then they get u translator.
Shaik,
Thanks and I appreciate your quick response.

a very informative thread.
thank you very much shaikh89
Does anyone know how can a person in similar situation who is not a PR come to Canada ? Do they issue student visa for grade 10 or 11 ? What is the fees for them ?
Is it ideal to come in school or directly into college ?
