btw...during the era around the cold war '1984' was widely used in schools across the US to illustrate the brainwashing that was supposedly rampant in the Soviet system.
It sounds like the soviets were not the only ones into Brainwashing

The "Beasts of England" anthem was a classic. I don't think even Orwell could've imagined how relevant Animal Farm would be after the demise of communism.
They should make Animal Farm mandatory reading for all high-school students.
