Hello ,
I got my canadian PR for me and my family( my wife and 2 kids )in last June and drove to Vancouver from California, USA to complete the formalities of PR.I applied for SIN cards along with my family and for the PR cards also, with a local mailing address and came back to US after a week.
I recieved my SIN cards for me and my family to the local address in Canada which were forwarded to me in US by my friends.
I did not recive PR cards but instead 2 letters were recieved from CIC on my name and my spouse name stating that photos/signatures did not match on our application forms for PR cards and an interview was scheduled on August 25 th to appear in person to do it again for issuing PR cards.
My kids did get neitherPR cards nor any letters as we did so far.
Since I do not have a visa to enter Canada what is my status now?
How do I get in to Canada and where do I get visa?
If there is no problem with my kids applications (aged about 18 and 15) why they did not get PR cards?
I wrote to CIC about my inability to keep the scheduled interview appointment date and requested for another date as I am out of Canada, but there is response from them till date.
I want this interview to be rescheduled for another 3 months as I am busy with my work in US and go to Canada in Feb'06.
What is my PR status now? IN or OUT????
I am totally confused.
Please advice.

Hi MS,
Dont worry you are still a PR of Canada. I am not sure about this but I read that if you travel by road to Canada you can enter using your COPR. Otherwise to return to Canada you will have to apply for a travel document. Contact the Canadian consulate in LA (if you are still in California) and apply for the travel document.
If you are outside Canada and do not have any Canadian immigration document to demonstrate your permanent residence status, you may contact a visa office outside Canada and apply for a Travel Document (Permanent Resident Abroad). The visa office will then start the process for evaluation of your status and determination of whether you have conformed with the residency obligations. If it is established that you were at any time a permanent resident of Canada and you meet the requirements of the residency obligation, you will be issued a Travel Document counterfoil in your passport to enable your travel back to Canada. If you do not meet the requirements of the residency obligation, your application may be refused after consideration of all connected factors.

Kenny,
That means I can go any time before my 3 out of 5 years time expires and apply for a travel document to enter in to Canada and retain my legal PR status??
Hi,
You can enter Canada with the copy of COPR (without PR card) by CAR.
Better to schedule an appointment and get the card at the earliest.

Hi,
When we landed, the immigration officer told us that we can enter Canada by car with the copy of COPR until we get the PR card.
