Hello, Just wanted to say that if you planning to move within GTA, avoid hiring the company I did. I had the worst experience of moving. First of all they were late by 1.30 Hrs and when contacted the manager his comments were "Oh, 1.30Hrs is nothing...we have reached late at times more than 3 hrs and people don't complain". Then their men always on the cellphone, so basically you pay for their prolonged chit-chats. Third, handling of boxes were aweful, my heart was crying on seeing how they were throwing the boxes. And the end they overcharged and when disputed they threatened to go to police and deserted us in halfway of unloading.

This was my experience.....others might have their own. So please do background check if you hire a mover.

Cheers
T

The best tip I can give about hiring movers-
Try to be the first client of the day(e.g: call movers @ 7 am). That way the movers are not tired, late from the previous move. Infact they work faster :) and usually come in early.

I hired these guys on a move to my new home earlier this year (found them on the Toronto Star classifieds, didn't have any references). They worked for about 6 hours and I didn’t have any of the problems that the OP appears to have had. In fact I had a number of fragile items in boxes clearly marked as such, and they handled them appropriately.

I guess experiences can vary…..

Hi,

Let's refrain from naming companies this way please. If you have had a bad expereince, do post it here and ask people to PM you for the name. Interested parties will do so.

I have edited your post. If anyone wants to know the company's name, please PM TorontoDesi.

Thanks.

Hi Crenshaw,

Can you give the contact # of local movers that you had used and were found reliable ? Also can you share how much their rate was?

Thanks.

Lot of people on CD including me have had good experiences with Jia Jia moves
http://jiajiamoving.com/rates.html

Everything is black and white with this company and their rates are very competitive and the loaders are hard working..

There are a lot of movers that run this business by scamming.. Lots of them are Desi's

My suggestion dont try to save a few pennies and get scammed..
