Thanks for a very useful piece of information. The Ayurvedic medicines have been under microscopic scrutiny for quite sometime in India as well as abroad but despite adverse chemical reports nothing seems to stop their production.
I have seen many Canadian desi stores still selling Safi and other heavy metal laden concotions.

Man's Best Friend
Some reputable companies in the list.
Chyavanprash didnt make the list.
Is it possible that these things are ok in the indian environment (climate etc) but harmful here in Northamerica?
How about silver foil which is used is sweets etc...?

I once made a mistake, but I was wrong about it.
I read a similar report in India (Indian study) couple of years ago. So I think it has nothing to do with climate.
Don't know if silver foil or silver is harmful. Foil is made by pounding silver in animal parts though!
Sona Chandi Chawanprash is sold too in Indian markets.
