A Demonstration will take place at 11:00 am, Friday, March 11, 2005, at the intersection of Bathurst and Lawrence West. Please bring as many people as you can. Can we know a few more details like what is planned for the demonstration? Do you know how many people are going to be there. It would be useful if we knew alittle more about this. The weblink just gives the place and the time.
It would be useful to have a poll on this? if itsnot already there somewhere on this website.

Its probably too late by now (it will start in two hours). Anyway I am posting the details here:
Guidelines for March 11 Rally
1) Event will take place at 11 am, Friday, March 11, 2005, in front of Joe VolpeÂ’s constit office on Lawrence Avenue. People should begin arriving at 10:30 am and be in place by 11.
2) Limited parking is available in the Lawrence Plaza across the street from the event and on side streets close by. There is a subway stop on Lawrence Avenue at the Allen Expwy, which is about 5 blocks west of the event site. There is a Lawrence Avenue bus, and of course the Bathurst bus, both of which bring people very close to the event site.
3) Monitors will be wearing blue armbands and will distribute placards to be carried during the event.
4) All questions or concerns should be directed to the monitors who will be in contact with the event organizers.
5) Monitors will be responsible for keeping order in our crowd, and will lead the group in chanting of slogans such as “WE WANT MOM AND DAD”, or “WE LOVE OUR PARENTS”, or “PARENTS YES, STRIPPERS NO!”
6) No one is to speak to the press. If you are approached by a media member wanting a comment or a statement, please tell them to speak to one of the monitors. Monitors will direct reporters to the four spokespersons for the day.
7) The tentative agenda for the event follows below:
· Welcome and keynote comments by Eugenia Yakhnin on behalf of Sponsor Your Parents (10 min)
· Comments by Kalen Liang (5 min)
· Brief comments by Michael Mostyn including acknowledgement of luminaries in the crowd (10 min)
· Greetings from any MPs who have signed on to speak (10 min)
· Wrap up by Robert Hakim (5 min)
Total 40 min

IMO, it is not effecting every country, China and Russia are two countries having a lead time for Parents & Grand Parents sponship over 10 years. If you want to support immigrant community, provide your support to them. This month they are getting registered as non profit organization and will provide receipt for donation. I wonder why do they need donation? They get lawyer service free, demonstrator travel on their own expense, opposition listen to problems at restaurant booked by political party and ruling party does not want to meet them.

It *does* affect all countries as applications from all countries have been stopped processing. The waiting times indicated are only for the ones received prior to June 2003.
