Ethan : I have the same timeline as yours , I applied in Aug 2003, submitted fees in Dec, I have been told after submitting fees and medicals it takes around 3-4 months for pp requests.

Ashish
Hey Ashish,
Thanks for your update. Did you receive a letter from CIC-Buffalo informing you of the 3-4 month waiting period for the passport request letter? Just wondering. I never receive anything from them since I submitted all their requested documents. When did your 3-4 month waiting period start?
Did you try to write CIC-Buffalo to find out your status? I sent them several fax but never got any reply.
Let's update each other since we have similar timeline.
Best.
Ethan
Hi,
I don't think Buffalo ever says the right time. They asked me to wait for 15 months but in 7 months flat I got my interview waiver and request for medicals.
I have just completed my medicals and have been very anxious after reading all these posts of long waits after medicals been done.
There is something about adhering the dates Buffalo insists upon. Have you guys followed any? If not, then no wonder it's taking long.
Ethan, Sandipshah & Ashish PLEASE be in touch as and when anything happens in your process, it will greatly benefit us all; and I shall do the same.
In case, any one needs to chat with me, please do so, my number is located in my signature.
Thanks & All the Best

From what i have observed it takes around 18 months from the day u apply the delay can be imposed at any stage.

Sucess is not an accident it is a result of hardwork with intelligence.
Hi,
I submitted the medicals in May 2004 and never heard back from the Buffalo office. After sending 3 faxes I finally got a reply after 4 months that they have asked other Govt. offices for some information and it will take 6-9 months for that. No specific Govt. offices listed in the letter and no starting date for 6-9 months processing period.
Right now I am on visitor visa. It is quite frustrating with no idea of how long it is gonna take. Anything we can do.....????
On samelines, i have completed my medicals almost 1 year 3 months back. Sent them multiple fax,mails.... No reply from CC. I guess they don't care. Wasted lot of money, time and if CC replies i need to again shell out money for medical exam (for family $700) Kind of fedup now. i don't know what needs to be done in my case. Online status says "decision made, will contact you" for last one year...

Desibanda
Hi desibanda,
I think the communication from Buffalo got lost in the mail. It is better to send a status enquiry letter to the officer who is handling the case by CERTIFIED MAIL.
