Indcan, sorry to hear about your predicament. I had mentioned about this situation in one of my earlier posts. However, all is not lost. Let me ask you some questions:

1.) You said you have financial constraints. Are these constraints here in Canada or are they related to your folks (e.g., parents back in India ?)

2.) I am not aware of Drives, controls or PLC's being taught at College's (I may be wrong here; so someone please correct me). AFAIK, these are university level subjects. You may want to, however, check out this thread for some information on PLC programming.

However, I do not know the job placement rate from Seneca.

3.) Let me also ask you something. I presume you want to do these courses to get a well paying job. Have you done a survey of companies that require such skills ? Are you sure you will be successful in finding a job once you do these courses ?

Maybe WAFY (we-apply-for-you) , our CD member, can help us out.

I am currently doing BE (electronics and comm) 3rd year from a reputed college which comes under mumbai university(india) and and i have not scored good marks till now my overall agg is 58%(missed 1st class by a percent or so and is equivalent to 70-75% of southern indian universities ) which is actually not so bad w.r.t to the university average agg(75% is usually topper of the college) although i got very good AIR in AIEEE while getting admission so m not a dull kid and very active in extra curricular activities.

So the problem m facing right now is i've been placed in HCL but i want to pursue MS(Meng) from CANADA but according to my marks i think i wont get admission in any of the canadian university and if i wait for my last year marks i will loose the job(for which m reluctant) ,so there's lot of confusion in my mind.

So please could you tell me that whether i can get admission in any good university in canada(with strong SOP and recommendation letters) or should i take the job and stay in india forever (most of the ppl say aftr doing a job you dont find study interesting). If i can get accepted could u suggest some names of the universities.

Rupinder
Take the job offer with HCL and work for 1-2 years. You will get real life work experience and that will help you in two ways:
a.)You can show in your SOP that you have work experience and you can tackle problems with ease. It may help you get funding and also mask your "bad" marks :)
b.)You can use the work experience to apply for PR once you land here.

Best of luck

Hi Friends,
I am canadian resident, but staying in middle east (Doha). I will be shifting to canada in Mar'2013. I am a civil planning engineer, have been working in Infrastructure projects through out my professional life.
I would appreciate if anyone can enlighten me about doing my masters in Construction management from UT,waterloo or any other suitable university. I will located in GTA initially, so would like to start my Masters soon after reaching there.
What are the prerequisites and what preparations I need to do before shifting there.
Any guidance will be appreciated.
Regards,
Sifarsen
