You mean daily doing that? I have not seen any Indian yet doing it.

Yeah, when you call many guests you will use paper dishes and order food as required.

but for routine life you can't do that - it is so costly to do :(

Hi Happy,

its funny you should mention use and throw away utensils. You see I lived with my brother last year (we both went away to school) and he thought it would be great to have throw away utensils to eat on. So he would eat pizza on the same plate for 3 days (just rinsing in between use)...AND he got our neighbor (also E.Indian) doing the same.

As far as food goes, well you can either try to cook yourself or order out (if you can afford to).

The thing is, you can do anything if you are motivated...like drink water in the same throw away glass for a few days (also another thing that my bro and the neighbor did on a regular basis)

I opted to use real plates and then put them in the dishwasher...:)

Hi Sunny,

The throwaway paper crocery is not at all costly in india. yes the thermocol crocery not affordable over months but that also is cheap. In India, I never stayed away from my home. so, I donot know cooking. But It had happened now more than four-five times where I had to live in hard conditions with food and cook. So, I leanered to eat bananas, bread, ruck, corn-flex, boiled eggs, biscuits etc with milk. Then Sarbhat, fruit juice, lemon water, dip-dip tea and coffee with milk-powder. also Namkeen bhujyeea, boiled patotoes, green salad are the things that we can put in bread sanwitches etc. Also we can eat germinated grams, dals etc with lemon. these foods donot require cooking, only hot boiling water can be had from electric kettle.

Do suggest us some more such foods for bachelores...
