Have any of you guys(families with growing childrens) noticed that the Omni freetime movies are not suitable for young audiences? Their choice of movies contains alot of adult matter along with mature and horrifying subjects for the little minds. I have been noticing this with most of the films that they telecast. Since these movies are on TV during the daytime(primetime), I think the Omni staff should make an effort in this regard to choose movies wisely..which can be watched with all of the family members.. be it kids or seniors.

For example, Shakthi....the movie that was telecasted on this Sunday..had quite horrible subject matter.......wasn't at all an 'Entertaining' movie. We people during our weekends want to relax our minds with light entertaining movies.....not such heavy subjects and that too during daytime. Our kids want to watch the movies with us too, but they cannot do so, as the movies are not suitable for them.

I hope you guys will agree on this, cos I think we need to make aware the Omni Staff about their movie choices.

I don't know what "Shakthi" movie you are talking about? The "Shakti" that I saw a long time back had nothing "not suitable" for children. Could you please give some more details of what scenes you are talking about and what appeared "non-suitable" for you?

I think rj_sonia is referring to the movie with Karishma Kapoor in it.. Its about bad situation in Bihar and how she fights her way out.. She plays the role of a Canadian citizen who gets married to a Bihari guy living in Canada.. and had to visit Bihar with him.

Well the subject is a little mature.. as they show lot of violence in the movie..

I am not a fan of Omni Movies as they are full of ads.. it takes 4 hours to watch a 2.5 hours long movie.

Yes, i was talking about 'Shakthi' starring Karisma and Sanjay Kapoor.

There have been some other movies too that were shown in the past with such subject matter too.

mm..... sonia, well, i dont think u cud generalise. while some may not like "heavy subjects", others probably see it as more original.

As for viewing with kids... i think .. the general criteria is movie sudnt be 18+ before i think 10:00PM... or something like that.

just curious, u got kids at home or did u hear other folks with kids complain abt it!?

It would be a better alternative, if OMNI TV gives a warning about mature theme and adult content or offensive language before the movie. You see such warnings all the time while watching Sopranos or South Park or other programmes with mature theme.

Even when I bought Zanjeer on ROD, I got a warning that movie was 14+ only. SO why cant they apply the same tactic on OMNI TV?

Or as a last resort they can do which DD used to do or even CTV does - bleep off or censor the offensive content.

Bad choice of question. It is illegal to ask about married status or personal information to male / female directly or indirectly. Law of Land "Canada"
