Hey there, Sandip,

It way better to reply here, atleast all of us who are facing simillar issues can ask questions..

My situation -

8 months of PG work permit expiring in March. Didnt apply for PR yet, But boss willing sponsor HRDC chain of events.. for extention of work permit.

Is this possible.. Wht are teh chances..? any special recom for application..?

ok all of u guys who are on Graduated work permit .............

i am telling u my story about visa procedure..........

came to canada : July 2002
Graduated from Niagara : June 2003 ( With Honors and Worked as Peer Tutorship)
Work permit Issued for EFI Systems : September 2003
Applied for PR at Buffallo : Nov - Dec '03
File No. : 31st December 2003
Medical with Initial Assessment : July 26th 2004
Submitted Medical with Current employement Records : August 10th 2004

Now Uptill the time everything was going on my way and i was pretty happy with this fast procedure............but as usual this canadian immigration been slow after medicals that till the date i didnt get any replies and as per my records now they are taking 6 months after medicals for passport requirements........

as my work permit expire in September...i also applied to change status from work to students and applied to one of the private college for extension.........

my student permit was refuse by CPC and so that i again apply for Visitor visa for next 6 months and now awaiting for the results to come...........i hope that before geting the results for my extension, i will get my Passport Requirements........i dont know if my visitor application got refuse then i need to go back to india and wait untill my PR comes.........

Any of You guys wants me to call than u r free to call me on 905 238 6068 thats my home no. where i will be available before 1 in the morning or else call me on my cell 416 704 0166 after 6 or 9 in the evening.......... i will be really happy to guide u guys as i pass through all of this immigtion procedures and also worked with one of the lawyer in Toronto for my files......

hi
i finish my studies from one of career college would i able to get grad work permit??one of employer is ready to hire me but i am not sure i will get work permit or not so not applyin can you guys help me out??

You can apply for Grad Wrok permit if you have completed your study from Community college.. If it is a private Institute then you need approvement from HRDC .....

I think i ned to clarify this common misconception that u need a HRDC if u r from a private institute.

HRDC clearance means 2 things a. LMO and b.Verification of job offer.(IF need furthur details call me on weekends or weekdays after 8 @ 416 417 3614).
A student from private institute just needs to verify his/her job offer from HRDC thats not a big deal.

FYI - I am also in the same boat as i am on PG work permit and have applied for immigration and feel if all of us work on these issues together we all will emerge winners.

Hi Guys,
I will be coming to TO on a temporary work permit to work as Post doctoral fellow at UT. Now after reading all the messages in this thread, I believe the PR stuff gonna take time. I have a job contract for two years from August 05 and would like to ask u guys if its possible for me to apply for PR quickly after landing in Canada??
About me I just finished my Ph.D in March 05 and since then employed full time at a Uni in Germany.

You probably have more than enough points. Clear cut cases take less time than cases where applicants barely manage to make it to the pass mark.

2 years is the standard processing time and as you probably already have enough points you can apply right now.
