Hi All,

I am an Engineering Graduate-Mechanical having around 6 years exp. in total, but the experience is in field of IT Service Delivery and Operations. To further enhance my skills, I want to do MBA in Operations from Canada from the college which is cheap and admission is easily available. Admission procedure should start from August ie. 2004 and admission procedure is completed by November/December ie. 2004. Earlier I had given TOEFL and GRE also, but the TOEFL Score does'nt hold valid now. GRE Score was 1800 and is valid till Dec 2004.

Pls suggest and help me get admission in Canada

What good will it do you to do your MBA from the 'cheapest' institute? "Cheapest" in money will also be cheapest in quality. Simply getting an MBA does not relly help you get a job. Just as it in India, here too it is the institute that matters.

i could write on this subject for hours and hours, as it has been the subject of many conversations i have had.

does it matter at which institute you study? if you went to a 'prestigious' institute, of course, you will say it matters. but in the end this is simply self-promotion, right?

i could argue that it is the man himself that is more important.

if an employer THINKS a degree from such and such a university is better than others, then it will matter. i know of cases where major corporations FAVOR graduates from a certain university and actually do much of their recruiting on the campus of that university.

but that having been said, i have met so many people from "the school of life" or the "school of hard knocks" who are very successful without any fancy degree that it puts in doubt any theory that you have to go to a particular school to succeed.

if you are a self-made man then it doesn't matter what school you went to... right?

every year 800 students graduate from Harvard law school; the top 100 go to work at the most prestigious companies in the states... and the other 700? i suppose they are pounding the pavement and fretting over paying off their loans... there are no guarantees in life. your qualifications don't matter so much as what you do with them.

any thoughts on this? it is a question that i have long wondered about... esp. since i have two children who will one day go to university

First of all you cannot do your MBA without a TOEFL and GMAT ( and not GRE). However, u have only one recourse. Learn french and then you can join the MBA program of the University of Ottawa. YOu will, of cos, have to take all courses in French (some in english also) and also write your thesis in French !
BUt thats easier said than done. I think they check ur proficiency in French.

The info listed on the website is incorrect.
I am quite sure that you need GMAT scores for admission to the U of T program as well as the U of O program

I don't have experence in this field but I just did a quick search on google and I posted whatever I thought will help original poster.

I knew infozee website is not updates since last two yrs ..that's why I ask him to check individual universties websites .
