My wife is an International Educated Nurse. She had completed her Initial assessment with CNO and now working as RPN in Ontario for over 8 years. Now she wants to do RN but we are not getting the clear information what is required. Can anyone please guide what will be the first step for getting the RN?

Do we need the assessment from NNAS again even though she had her assessment from CNO before her RPN license?

Please contact this Institution and enroll for the courses required to qualify as a R.N.

There are other universities that run a R.N.Course that will help you with the same. There are a few within a radius of 10 miles from you. So, look for them through a local library. They also have a Prospectus there for you to look into and get more details and a contact number too.

SOME EXCERPTS FROM OTHERS POSTS.
1. So how long is the duration of bridging program that leads to RN. I just want to know since i have applied only for RN. I see there are few programs on few college websites like Algonquin which offer 1 year bridging to IENs...what are they for?

2. Will CNO tell us what bridging program we should take and where we should take?

3. I hear that Touchstone institute is backed up till Feb,2017. My evidence of practice will expire in May, 2019. Does that mean i should complete my bridging course before May, 2019?

4. I have not received any dates for OSCE yet..but i assume that i may receive early next year after Feb,2017. Once my gaps are identified, i assume they will take 6-8weeks to let me know what i should do...then i go to the college for bridiging. If it's a 2 year program, then most probably i will graduate after my safe evidence of practice period ie., May, 2019. What happens to me then??

5. The way i see it..it looks like i'm chasing a ghost. Do you have any ideas/Suggestions that you think i should do differently so that i may work as a Nurse in this country without having to repeat the whole program and start afresh. But i Don't mind doing bridging course..1 or 2 years i'm Ok with it..

I hope that your wife will succeed, and she will be able to continue her education and takes RN courses.
