Dear All,
I am an MBA ,having an experience of around 8 years working in the Chairman Offices of 3 Indian companies as "Executive Assistant to Chairman".Can anyone throw some light whether such jobs are available in Toronto/GTA/Vancouver?Also need your suggestions with regard to the landing city keeping in mind the job market for my area of job.I am planning to come to Canada in the last week of August'2004.

Jobs for executive assistants are plentiful - and I have met quite a few ladies who say they are executive assistants. However, my feeling is that executive assistants here is a combination of a high level secretary (female) and knowledge of accounting and administration. Not exactly what we see in the east as professionals (like MBAs and CAs) being exec assts.

I have been in similar position for a no of years, and I think such a position is available in private companies where the owners are there to run day to day businesses.

From your post, I feel that the position of "Executive Assistant" is mostly reserved for ladies.As such,what do you suggest for me?I am seeing a BIG STRUGGLE in front.
