I need to file Tax Returns for self, my wife and son for the year 2016.

Please suggest experienced, reliable and reasonable priced guys in Brampton to file tax returns.

Thanks.

Start of my response might not be the answer that you are looking for. But the idea behind is to make you self sufficient and (bring) move you into the current times and let you do it yourself. The main reason being, you are asking for a tax filer for the year 2016. (So you do know the current year and might have done it too for the previous year also which is 2015)

If you do have a copy for the previous one, then, you are way ahead in this game and you also know all or most of the requirements before you get started. Also know the numbers and lines in the return.

The current day software are very friendly and most of them forgive you if you do a mistake. So, my suggestion to you is DO IT YOURSELF. Because it takes just the same time as it takes a tax filer to do the same. (You save the trip to his shop) Also save a few bucks in the process.

The most important part is it gives the satisfaction of doing it yourself and builds a lot of confidence in your own abilities. Adds a Feather in your Cap.

FH.

Alternately, go to Taxtron or H & R Block.
I use Turbo Tax Standard, if I have no complications. Business version if I have rentals, trading and other investments. If you are at that level, then it will cost you about $100 or more to file the taxes, the software is less than 60 bucks. (Today is the last day for the discounts. See the top ad in CD) fh.

You can use Studio Tax free of charge even for rental property.

Everyone has different case but I prefer myself because it gives me ability to play with numbers and decide how much I should claim for RRSP or carry forward for next year.

Thanks.

A $ 20 Turbo Tax or UFILE software will easily do it for you.

However if its your first return ever you can't NETFILE it and will have to do it manually.

Don't go for FREE software like Studio Tax, Simple tax if you don't know what you are doing as they won't guide you.

Yes, you have to file taxes for 2016. Even though you didn't work, you can claim credits for yourself and your family

30-60$ it takes to buy the software, play around get educated and file taxes. In Brampton in same amount you can hire tax consultant's services, mitigate the risk making mistake, learn from a professional using his better software to file taxes and save more dollars. next year it becomes much easier as your data is stored with the tax consultant already and all you need to do is place your next year's papers with him. He will charge extra if you have rental properties or businesses.

I used to file myself, till once I went to tax consultant and found that not only they are cheaper , they know from back of their hand how to save some dollars by shifting claims between you and your spouse. I still calculate at home and then go to tax consultant to file, most of the time consultant wins.

Choice is yours.

That reminds need to go get it done for this year.. .
