Hello need some urgent information. My wife came to Canada on February 23, 2015 and is employed since. We have to travel to India for a family event but her PR has expired (it was valid from 22 June 2011 until 21 August 2016). She cannot apply for a renewed PR because she has not completed 732 days stay. Some people suggested that she can get a single entry PR travel document. However it seems that this can be applied only when she is outside Canada and also there is no time frame by which this will be received. Can anyone advise if this TRAVEL DOCUMENT can be applied within Canada before she leaves so that we are not worried about a delay in receiving it when we return in 2 weeks and not jeopardize her job. All suggestions/Advice welcome.

If you cannot complete the required 732 days with in Canada, you cannot RENEW your PR Card.

While you are filling in the required 730 days here, you have an emergency, you can approach the CIC through a LAWYER and seek permission to leave and return for a specific number of days for such and such an EVENT and resume your 732 days course after return.

You need serious help and we can only say that it is beyond our control and interpretation to help you with this special request.
