Emirates seem to have become most preferred airline by the business travellers, hence the deals are largely off, bit in Etihad though.
Most of the deals I see are coming from Lufthansa or British Airways. Try Expedia or chapoair.

I booked thru agent in toronto and it cost me 75 bucks more than booking straight online (a friend of mine booked online the following day and saved those 75 bucks; we both went to India and came back fine; looks like I paid the extra 75 bucks for nothing!).

We have used IndianEagle.com. I am not sure I know what the benchmark for a deal is. But, in my case, my dates were flexible and so I played around and ended up buying tue departure and tue arrival for the best price among the many displayed in the list.

Mine was on Lufthansa and April departure.

I had been just relying on expedia and some times Cheapoair ( thanks for those recommended). Deals are different in each sites it is recommended that you subscribe couple of sites and play around with your specific dates.
